About the Temple The Agrotereion Temple to Artemis is a "by invitation" public sacred space that is sacred to Artemis. The temple resides within a wooded, shady grove accessible throughout the year (though you may need snowshoes in winter). People are welcome to visit the temple at any time by appointment or inquire about attending one of the festivals. The name "Agrotereion" comes from an epithet of Artemis, Agrotera, which means "of the wild." Because this temple is situated within a plot of 100 acres of woods and is very private, it seemed that the wild and free nature of Artemis should indeed be honored there. Currently, the temple is tended by Rev. Allyson (whose family owns the property) and three young ladies who have made vows to serve there until they hear a call to elsewhere. This temple is accessible by children, adults, and also by wheelchair (by special request, a tractor can be used to reach the temple for those unable to walk). About the Neokoros Rev. Allyson Szabo is a Hellenic polytheist who moved to New Hampshire in October of 2008. Though she is not a priestess of Artemis, she is very proud and pleased to be a Neokoros for her.
